It's almost the weekend, but it needs to be here quicker, so I'm taking a moment for an off topic post. Have you ever read The Secret? I haven't, I just watched the DVD, and from what I saw I really liked. The Secret is based on something called the Law of Attraction...
The Law of Attraction is a theory commonly associated with New Age and New Thought theories. It posits that one should never dwell on the negative, as the "metaphysical principle of life" is embodied in a "law of attraction": "you get what you think about; your thoughts determine your destiny."
Basically, from what I gathered, everything in the world happens for a reason, and our futures can be altered depending on our thoughts. A person with a very negative attitude will tend to have more problems and strain in their life, whereas an optimistic and positive person is more likely to get what they want and be successful. Now, take my interpretation lightly, but that's the gist of it. I know, sounds a little crazy, right?
Really it was an insightful and exciting documentary to watch. There's several experts, professionals and everyday people explaining their experiences with the Law of Attraction. It's one of those things you watch that make you stop and think, "is this crap real?" and I honestly don't know what to think. There's explanations and scientific proof, but still it's a crazy idea. Overall it was a great watch, really gets your mind going and open to new ideas.
